AFRICA'S EPIDEMIC MIGRATION TO EUROPE

Slave trade deprived Africans there human dignity and rights which make a person to be taken against his will. So many Africans were migrated or taken forcefully to Europe and America to work on a farm which can never be there's.
Africa have tested these deprivation for decades before the industrial revolution of the 19 century.
After the abolition of the slave trade, we have seen the historic inflow of the freed slave back to Africa to come and be settled in the settlement such as the Liberia and Free town, long before the Africa's struggle for political independent from the colonial Europe.
Post independent Africa is full of surprises in which the neocolonialism continues this time with the full pledge corrupt leaders of the continent. We remain the dark continent even after the expected political independence which have became a tool of regrets to other countries.
Post independent and the political economy of Africa is another story of it own, when many underdeveloped Asian countries were becoming Tigers our countries were busy having one military coup after the other which make the continent more backward, which was not the dream of those who fought for the freedom of the continent.
I am not an orator, but the historical background of Africa's problem is too wide to study, and is too vast to make a research and difficult to arrive to any hypothesis.
Many Africans remain in poverty and still the continent remain the most backward and indebted to developed countries, and world financial bodies. The African economy remain a subsistence and in shamble stage, we always run to developed countries for financial aid and grants in aid. Our production capacity is still a primitive and it lacks fresh innovative ideas to gear it up.
African history is the most miserable of all history through the ages up to the millennium time, we don't care about our peers despite the riches beneath our soil.
The riches beneath our soil can make us super powers, but the corruption which taken over the mind of our leaders make it very difficult to accept the fact that, we can compete with any other country in the world. Africa is a sorry state, with a long history of conflict and civil wars, which deprived all the enriches and buoyancy of this once great continent were civilization itself started.
I almost cry when ever i heard news of some African migrant dying in the high sea, while trying to escape the hardship of there motherland.
Quite a number of people dies every day mostly promising young men and technocrats. Many intellectuals have perished and became a wasted history when they became unlucky and dies in the quest to reach Europe, according to them to have a better life. This has been a worrisome, seeing the influx of the African migrants flooding to make a living in Europe, you will certainly ask why and what is wrong with Africa.
The recent disaster which happen at the Lampedusa island in Italy, where many African migrants lost there lives when there boat capsized and sanked  was one of the horrific story of the week and also arise the so many unanswered question about the governance of African countries. The Lampedusa incidence as reported though by the BBC:

"The survivors tell a tragic story"

At least 130 African migrants have died and many more are missing after a boat carrying them to Europe sank off the southern Italian island of Lampedusa.

A total of 103 bodies have been recovered and more have been found inside the wreck, coast guards say.

Passengers reportedly threw themselves into the sea when a fire broke out on board. More than 150 of the migrants have been rescued.

Most of those on board were from Eritrea and Somalia, said the UN.

The boat was believed to have been carrying up to 500 people at the time and some 200 Of them were unaccounted for.

This marked a tragic end to a long journey from countries as far as Eritrea and Somalia.

Over the years there have been numerous disasters involving migrants off Lampedusa, but seldom on anything like this scale. The island's mayor wept as she took in the scene on the harbour wall.

Furious demands are being made for an end to the dangerous trafficking of people across the Mediterranean. But it is hard to see how the flow could be curbed, with so many people so desperate for a chance to make a new life in Europe, and traffickers in so many ports ready to take their money.

Italian Interior Minister Angelino Alfano said the ship had come from Misrata in Libya and began taking on water when its motor stopped working.

It is thought that some of those on board set fire to a piece of material to try to attract the attention of passing ships, only to have the fire spread to the rest of the boat.

Simona Moscarelli, a spokeswoman from the International Organization for Migration in Rome, told the BBC that in order to escape the fire, "the migrants moved, all of them, to one side of the boat which capsized".

She estimated that only six of about 100 women on board survived, adding that most of the migrants were unable to swim.

"Only the strongest survived," she said.

It is one of the worst such disasters to occur off the Italian coast in recent years; Prime Minister Enrico Letta tweeted that it was "an immense tragedy". The government has declared a day of national mourning on Friday.

"There is no miraculous solution to the migrant exodus issue," said Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino. "If there were we would have found it and put it into action.

Without the necessary paperwork, the only way for migrants to get to Europe is to put themselves in the hands of criminal ganngs.

In a separate incident on Thursday, local media reported that around 200 migrants were escorted to the port of Syracuse on the island of Sicily, when their vessel encountered difficulties five miles off the coast.

Earlier this week, 13 migrants drowned while trying to reach Sicily.
'Continuous horror'.
Many years poverty which was caused by corruption and negligence of duty make Africa to mock itself, our leaders are unpatriotic and they care for nothing but the welfare if themselves and their family.
