The “Bauchi First Agenda” is a vision built on the hopes, struggles, and aspirations of the people of Bauchi State. It is a commitment to place the welfare of the citizens above politics, and to build a modern, secure, educated, and economically productive Bauchi for present and future generations.

1. EDUCATION REVOLUTION

“Quality Education for Every Child”

Education remains the foundation of every developed society. The Bauchi First Agenda will prioritize genuine investment in education, not mere promises.

Key Plans:

* Massive renovation and construction of Primary and Secondary Schools across urban and rural communities.

*Recruitment and training of qualified teachers with improved welfare packages.

*Provision of modern learning materials, laboratories, libraries, and digital learning tools.

* Introduction of free or subsidized educational materials for less privileged students.

* Establishment of a special BAUCHI State Education Development Tax (BEDUTAX) to sustainably fund education projects.

* Abrogation of the existing OVC Tax and full integration into the more comprehensive BEDUTAX framework.

* Scholarship schemes for outstanding students and support for technical/vocational education.

Strong monitoring system to ensure education funds are properly utilized.

Goal:

To reduce illiteracy, improve educational standards, and prepare Bauchi youths for global competitiveness.

2. HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

“Empowering the People”

No society grows beyond the capacity of its people. The Bauchi First Agenda will focus on empowering youths, women, artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs.

Key Plans:

1. Establishment of skill acquisition and vocational training centers in all senatorial zones.

2. Youth empowerment programs in ICT, agriculture, entrepreneurship, mining, and modern trades.

3. Soft loans and grants for small and medium-scale businesses.

Women empowerment initiatives through cooperative support and business funding.

4. Partnership with private sectors and international organizations to create employment opportunities.

5. Promotion of innovation, technology, and digital economy initiatives.

6. Special support for persons living with disabilities and vulnerable groups.

Goal:

To create self-reliant citizens, reduce unemployment, and build a productive workforce.

3. HEALTHCARE TRANSFORMATION

“Accessible and Affordable Healthcare for All”

Healthcare is not a privilege but a right. Every citizen deserves access to quality medical care regardless of location or social status.

Key Plans:

1. Upgrade of General Hospitals, Primary Healthcare Centers, and rural clinics.

2. Recruitment of qualified doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare workers.

3. Provision of modern medical equipment and essential drugs.

Free maternal and child healthcare programs.

4. Expansion of healthcare insurance coverage for vulnerable citizens.

5. Improved emergency response and ambulance services.

6. Strong campaigns on hygiene, sanitation, and disease prevention.

Partnership with NGOs and health agencies to combat malnutrition and preventable diseases.

Goal:

To reduce mortality rates and improve the overall health and wellbeing of the people.

4. INFRASTRUCTURE AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT

Infrastructure drives economic activities and improves the quality of life of citizens.

Key Plans:

1. Construction and rehabilitation of roads linking communities, markets, and farming areas.

2. Expansion of rural electrification projects.

3. Improvement of water supply systems in both urban and rural communities.

4. Modern drainage and environmental sanitation projects to reduce flooding.

5. Development of modern markets, transportation systems, and public facilities.

6. Promotion of affordable housing initiatives.

7. Encouragement of public-private partnerships for infrastructure financing.

Goal:

To connect communities, stimulate commerce, and modernize Bauchi State.

5. SECURITY AND PUBLIC SAFETY

“Peace, Stability, and Protection of Lives”

3.Provision of logistics and operational support to security agencies.

4. Youth engagement programs to reduce crime and drug abuse.

Establishment of conflict resolution and peacebuilding mechanisms.

5. Improved border and rural surveillance systems.

6. Protection of farmers, traders, students, and businesses from insecurity.

Goal:

To build a peaceful and secure Bauchi where citizens can live, work, and invest confidently.
