THE BETTER NORTH EAST APPRECIATION TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI

Dear Sir.
Appreciation is always a part of gratefulness shown upon a gesture. People goes to extra Level to append their  recognition. With due diligence, a doxology I write to show our gratitude to Mr. President for his foresight and huge favour given to us the people of the North East Nigeria.

President Buhari came to power amidst a global recession, Nigeria's economy has shrunked to a verge of total collapse, with crude oil price diving down the margin below zero, to below $20 per barrel, a drained Foreign Reserve of not up to $20bn a total disaster to a mono economy like ours, a single line of revenue generation that poses danger to our sustainable development. PMB in his wisdom and resilience get to the roots of the problem, took them one after the other by formulating a strong revival team, that thrills to make Nigeria great. President Buhari tried his best to make things working  again and thus with fausity purse, he is making things possible for Nigeria.

NORTHEAST DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
North East is ravaged by terrorism, Boko Haram has been launching attacks, sacking towns and villages for Almost a decade. From 2010 to 2015 billions has been lost, lives lost and thousands displaced. After his Ascension to power, PMB tried all possibilities to trim their strength and reduced their vigour of attacks and occupations of several territories of the country, and he has done that. Today the terrorist are decimated to a mere clusters and operation are ongoing to mop Them totally. PMB has done well in the purchase of Weapons for the Armed forces to face the dreaded terrorist, fighter jets are acquired with more capable Airforce, all kind of threats will be out off, the economy of the region was shifted from bouyant to ramshackle and a hopeless future before the coming of PMB. After pushing for humanitarian relief package, our representatives in the NASS pushed for the establishment of the NEDC North East development Commission, to ganer needed rebuilding for quicker  redeployment and resettlement of the displaced, also to cater for the fast tracking development of the devastated region, Mr. President Sir, we are excited you showing much concern in the rebuilding of the region's economy, hence the move to build the long abandoned Mambila Hydroelectric Dam.

MAMBILA HYDROELECTRIC POWER PROJECT
The Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Station, is a 3,050 MW hydroelectric power project under development in Nigeria. When completed, it will be the largest power-generating installation in the country, and one of the largest hydroelectric power stations in Africa. Expected to commence operation in 2030, Mambilla will be Nigeria’s biggest power plant, producing approximately 4.7 billion kWh of electricity a year. The project is estimated to cost $5.8bn and will generate up to 50,000 local jobs during the construction phase. Despite the hickup in commencement, PMB has been resolute and determined to keep on to make the project a reality. We said thank you Baba.

KASHIMBILA HYDROELECTRIC POWER DAM.
Equally in  September 2019, the Federal Government of Nigeria reported that work on the Kashimbila hydroelectric project site was 90% complete. However, several months later, construction of the dam is still not complete, although it is still eagerly awaited as it is expected to solve many problems in Taraba State. The dam is expected to generate 40 MW of electricity and provide water to 40,000 people. Water from the Kashimbila multi-purpose dam will also feed irrigation systems in Taraba State. According to Nigeria’s central government, the new facility could irrigate 3,000 hectares of plantations, especially during the dry season. This is good news in a region with very fertile land, as it is located close to Cameroon’s 1,400 km long belt of active volcanoes.

NORTHEAST STANDARD GAUGE RAILWAY LINE
NIGERIA’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) under President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR has approved contracts worth $US 3.02bn for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Port Harcourt – Maiduguri 1067-mm Eastern Line. The project includes the construction of new branch lines from Port Harcourt to Bonny and Owerri, and from Gombe to Damaturu and Gashua, minister of transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, announced on October 7. Aconnection with the standard gauge network will also be built at Kafanchan.
OIL EXPLORATION IN THE NORTHEAST

The Nigerian National PetroleuCorporation (NNPC) has announced the discovery of hydrocarbon (oil and gas) deposits in the Kolmani River II Well on the Upper Benue Trough, Gongola Basin, in the North-Eastern part of the country.
It would be recalled that drilling of the Kolmani River II Well, a site near Barambu, a village in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, was flagged-off by President Muhammadu Buhari on the 2nd of February, 2019.
A statement by the Corporation’s acting spokesman Mr. Samson Makoji, stated that NNPC acquired 435.54km2 of 3D Seismic Data over Kolmani Prospect in the Upper Benue Trough, Gongola Basin.
This was to evaluate Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) Kolmani River 1 Well Discovery of 33 BCF and explore deeper levels.
The well was drilled with “IKENGA RIG 101” to a total depth of 13,701feet encountering oil and gas in several levels. A Drill Stem Test (DST) is currently on-going to confirm the commercial viability and flow of the Kolmani River reservoirs.
The Corporation explained that on Thursday 10th October, 2019, at 18:02hours, one of the reservoirs was perforated and hydrocarbon started flowing to the well head at 21:20hours in which the gas component was flared to prevent air charge around the Rig.
Preliminary reports indicate that the discovery consists of gas, condensate and light sweet oil of API gravity ranging from 38 to 41 found in stacked siliciclastic cretaceous reservoirs of Yolde, Bima Sandstone and Pre-Bima formations.
Computation of hydrocarbon volume is on-going and will be announced in due course. The Corporation has also acquired additional 1183km2 of 3D seismic data over highly prospective areas of Gongola Basin with a view to evaluating the full hydrocarbon potential of the Basin.
NNPC has deployed world class cutting-edge technologies including Surface Geochemistry, Ground Gravity/Magnetic, Stress Field Detection, Full Tensor Gradiometry aerial surveys to de-risk exploration in the frontier basins.
The NNPC plans to drill additional wells for full evaluation of the hydrocarbon volume in the Gongola Basin. The discovery of oil and gas in commercial quantity in the Gongola Basin will attract foreign investment, generate employment for people to earn income and increase government revenues
