QUEEN ELIZABETH II

Image
QUEEN ELIZABETH II  The Queen's Ancestral lineage goes back to have a connection with Muslim.  Writer Abdelhamid Al-Aouni, who wrote the Moroccan article, states: "It builds a bridge between our two religions and kingdoms" It is thought that the Queen could be a descendant of a Muslim princess called Zaida, who was forced to flee her home town of Seville and eventually converted to Christianity. According to My London, Zaida was believed to be part of the ruling Abbasid Dynasty, which was founded in 1023 by Abu al-Qasim Muhammad ibn Abbas, a known descendant of Prophet Muhammad. Zaida is said to have converted to Christianity after supposedly becoming a concubine of King Alfonso VI of Castile and together they had a son called Sancho. It is said that a descendant of Zaida later married the Earl of Cambridge - a direct ancestor of the Queen. These findings were also published in 1986 by royal genealogy experts (Burke’s Peerage) However, ever since the claim was...

INSIDE PI NETWORK TECHNOLOGY

Image
What is a Pi network? Developed in 2018 by a team of Stanford University graduates, the Pi network was invented with the goal to simplify access to cryptocurrency for the public. Pi crypto is introduced as easily mineable on any desktop or mobile device without the need to equip strong computers and the consumption of mass-energy. Network participants can play several roles including running a node on their personal computers, referring new members, or mining Pi coins on their phones. According to the Pi core team (PCT), during the beta stage of the project, the application works by simulating the mining process which will run properly when the Pi goes mainnet. Users take part in block validation and receive rewards in Pi coins. The potential of the Pi network Reportedly, the Pi network went viral globally thanks to its community of around 35 million active users as of 2022 who are mining Pi through their mobile phones. The application is available on both A...

AMB. SADIQ BABA ABUBAKAR AND HON. SADIYA UMAR FARUQ: THE DUO ARE MAKING HISTORY.

Image
By   Muwaffiq Fa'izu Saleh  Amb. Baba Sadique Abubakar is known to all as the master repositioner of the Nigerian Air force because he has made it far better prepared in combating multiple fronts of war and most importantly, he has made it more apolitical. He has succeeded in inculcating the indispensable values of excellence, integrity, and sincere service delivery in the force.  Further, into the successes he has recorded, one cannot pass without mentioning the provision of the much-needed leadership and necessary guidance for effective and efficient actions in curtailing the menace of the various terrorist groups in Nigeria.  It could be recalled that after taking over the mantle of command and control of the NAF, this great man altered positively the story of the force by gradually creating highly professional and disciplined men and officers via capacity building for effective, efficient, and timely employment of Airpower in responding to...

STARBOY 2.01

Image
BY:  Tahir Ibrahim Tahir (Talban Bauchi) The NBA conference has sort of been marked as the starting point of the 2023 election year campaigns' 100 meters dash, and the event has become the center stage for huge and virile political commentary, media banter, intellectual discourse, and most importantly; a dose of what we are going to get throughout, or most of the campaign season.  Sen. Kashim Shettima was the only Vice Presidential candidate, who was on stage at the conference, representing his principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu aka Jagaban; the Presidential candidate of the ruling APC. Going back a few weeks, to the days of the APC primaries build-up, Nigerians met a glimpse of Kashim's content and intellectual quantity. I overheard tweeps and other users/ influencers on social media, appreciating his oratory, his composure, and fact files of history; as he quotes events, activities, and the actors therein with great accuracy. I came across some other commentary...

AMB. SADIQUE BABA ABUBAKAR: THE TRUE SON OF THE SOIL.

Image
By Muwaffiq Fa'izu Saleh  Initially, one can easily count us, we, the supporters of Air Vice Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (Rtd). Our number was small, even on social media platforms. As time goes by, our numbers swelled up rapidly. Courtesy of the numerous rumors being paddled against him by his opponents. They first rumored that Baba Sadique has rejected the idea of contesting for the number one seat in Bauchi State. Later, his posters resurfaced to debunk their lies. Before they know it, this movement has spread like wildfire. Baba Sadique was a letter to become a household name not only in Bauchi but Nigeria at large. We have lost count of the number of hitches we have encountered since this movement began but everything is now history.  As a popular Hausa adage says "Zakaran da Allah Ya nufa da chara...." (Loosely translated as "Whatever God has destined, will surely be..) We have been seeing how lies and campaigns of calumny have been p...

2023: TINUBU'S RUNNING MATE, THE WAY NIGERIA TRULY IS, AND THE CORRECT VISION FOR THE FUTURE!

Image
_ By Ibraheem A. Waziri #14-06-2022, #Tinubu, #Muslim-Muslim, #2023,  The Way it Truly is.  Maybe for reasons of history and culture! Since the main precursor organised states of the present Nigerian state, were the more than half a millennium old Islamic state of Kanem-Bornu and a century old Sokoto Caliphate, that  once occupied the territories forming about 17 out of the 19 states, spread across three geopolitical zones of North-west, central and East of the present  Northern Nigeria.  Maybe that was why the later Christian social and political solidarity in Nigeria, is not as potent and die-hard-like, as Muslim social and political solidarity. A simple check on the health and the status presently, of South-west Yoruba/ South-easy Igbo/ South-South and Northern Christians in solidarity, will reveal this truth as compared with that of Yoruba/Igbo/South-South/Northern Muslims.  Regardless, a Northern Christian – and away from agenda servicing media w...

CRYPTO BAN, RECESSION AND COINECONOMETRICS OF NIGERIA

Image
Despite being the largest economy in Africa, Nigeria has been battling recession for years, the latest is from 2016 when it hit high to a point of going down the drainage and pool of inflation.  Some reports have it that, the Nigerian economy is expected to grow by 1.8% in 2021, though there is high uncertainty about the outlook. The recovery would be driven by rising in oil exports and domestic demand. ... GDP per capita is projected to continue declining because the economy is forecast to grow more slowly than the population. GDP in Nigeria averaged 134.82 USD Billion from 1960 until 2020, reaching an all-time high of 546.70 USD Billion in 2014 and a record low of 4.20 USD Billion in 1960. THE DOWN OF THE CRYPTO-ECONOMY The price of Bitcoin hit an all-time high of $19,000.00 on December 17, 2017, sending the world into a frenzy about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. Interest groups, media circles, and populations of people that appeared so far away f...

OUR PROSPERITY IN THE CUSTODY OF SUBSIDY

Image
By  Tahir Ibrahim Tahir  (Talban Bauchi)  28/1/2022 The subsidy debate has brought to the fore, the sordid reality that successive governments since 1999, have failed the Nigerian people, in doing away with this highly corruptive channel of providing PMS (petroleum motor spirit) through imports. For over 20 years, the monumental fritting away of our foreign exchange by this monster has been left unchecked and unhindered. At some point, it was estimated that our daily consumption level was 35 million litres. This has since multiplied to 50 million litres and going by the figures of our fuel importation bills, we are well over 70 million litres per day. The Nigeria customs service had brought to our attention that most of the service stations near our borders were just conduit pipes to smuggling subsidised fuel to our neighbouring countries. There is an additional 150 Naira per little or even more, to be made when trucks of PMS are smuggled out of the country. S...

THE PRIVATE UNIVERSITY AS ENTERPRISE: LIMITS OF ACADEMIC CAPITALISM

Image
By  Prof. Jibrin Ibrahim January 14, 2022 Last week, I attended a Convening on Higher Education in Africa, organised by Professor Toyin Falola of the University of Texas at Austin. The conference held at Babcock University and focused on the theme of the impact of private universities on public universities in Africa. Participants were drawn from university faculty, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), education regulators, founders, donors, students, and independent researchers from Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, and Nigeria. It was an exciting debate on the complex relationship between the public and private sectors in higher education. The original argument for the establishment of private universities was to create more access for students but the reality today is that the private sector has not substantially increased access. In addition, private universities have not really recruited and trained their own faculty, they poaches from the public sector f...
